Maternity care
Local care, support, and birth options for you and your whānau
Finding out you’re hapū (pregnant) is a special moment, but it’s not always clear what to do next.
Our experienced midwives support you and your baby throughout pregnancy, birth, and the weeks after. You can access care close to home, including clinic visits, home visits, and local birthing in Dannevirke.
Choosing local care means you can stay close to home and your support network, with fewer long-distance trips and care from a team who understands your community. You’ll also benefit from continuity throughout your pregnancy and support that’s connected with other local health services.
Our maternity service is available to the wider community, so you do not need to be enrolled with Tararua Health Group.
Getting in touch early helps you plan your care and access the right support from the start.
